Sales Volume Isn't Measured in Enthusiastism
Matt Birchler concluding his post about ‘smartphone enthusiasts".
I’m not saying that the Nothing Phone 1 is better than the iPhone 14 Pro, but I am saying that being an enthusiast of anything usually means appreciating things that are new and novel.
I agree. Sales volumes don’t make a phone compelling or interesting. Features, specifications, design choices, and fuctionality make a phone compelling.
The Google Pixel line of phones are great phones.
Are they the best selling phones? No.
Does that mean that they shouldn’t be considered great phones? No.
The same can be said of any number of phones that do not match the volume of sales of the iPhone. Just because a phone doesn’t sell as much as an iPhone doesn’t mean that it’s not interesting and worthy of being discussed or celebrated.
