Gruber closing out his thoughts on the preemptive blocking of Facebook’s ActivityPub thing,

Is the goal of the Fediverse to be anti-corporate/anti-commercial, or to be pro-openness? I think openness is the answer. Others clearly disagree.

Openness doesn’t mean you have to interact with everything on the protocol because it’s built on the protocol.

I do not understand why the pushback is on the people saying they won’t work with Facebook when Facebook has consistently for 20 years shown they aren’t trustworthy.
