Stupid 117 2/1/2

This piece speaks volumes to me.

Trying to break out of habit and routine to create new habits and routines is like finding freedom that you didn’t know you had.

I’m feeling a little frustrated this morning.

Work has slowly and not so slowly crept into my personal time.

Now that I’ve opened the door to working when I’m not physically in the building, I don’t know how to close it. Or if I can.

The work/life balance of being a manager.

CNN+ Looks Doomed

Wait, CNN has a streaming service?

Why?

I made the dangerous choice to see how much credit I have in the Google store and now I’m thinking it’s time to upgrade my Pixel 4 even though I am still happy with it’s performance.

Maybe I’ll wait until the Pixel 7 is released and upgrade then. That makes more sense since it will likely be this fall.

Judge Reduces Tesla’s Punitive Damage For Allowing A Racist Work Environment To Pocket Change

Awarded damages were reduced from $137 million to $15 million.

Is $15 million a lot for a company valued at $1 trillion?
No.
is $15 million a lot for an individual?
Yes.
Is it more than the #300,000 Tesla wanted to pay? Yes.

The lawsuit wasn’t filed to stop Tesla allowing a ‘racist work environment’; it was filed because Owen Diaz suffered racial abuse while working there.

Mike Masonic writing at Techdirt

I feel like I keep needing to write this, but once again, no matter who does it and no matter which company they’re targeting, it’s wrong for politicians to promise to punish companies for their speech. For some reason, many people’s position on this point changes based on whether or not they like or dislike the politician, and whether or not they like or dislike the company. But it’s wrong.

Completely agree.

Samsung’s new Frame TV is already on sale at Woot

Does The Verge think Samsung told Amazon that it’s okay to sell the TV for less than retail?

They realize that Amazon owns Woot and sets the price, not Samsung, right?

Today, in shitty newspaper graphs comes Reuters with this monstrosity of a graph.

Reuters Bullshit

Well, these are some pretty great illustrations.
